Events rely on the support of volunteers to make them a success. We need more people to help with events for fundraising and raising the profile of our work and to increase awareness.

Reasons to volunteer

All our volunteers have their own motivations for being part of the VWD Team,  but here’s just some of the reasons why you might want to join us:
  • A chance to work in a friendly team, to make new friends and meet a diverse group of people.
  • The opportunity to make an invaluable contribution to VWD's mission to provide asstance dogs for mental health.
  • The time to develop your confidence and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to gain valuable work experience to add onto your CV and to learn new skills
Whether you'd like to volunteer at one of our own events, help with someone else's event, or organise and coordinate an event in your local area, the vital funds you raise makes a huge difference to the work that we do.

What do event volunteers do?

You could helping us to set up the event which may include setting up marquees, putting up banners or getting water sorted out for dogs. If you’re looking for a role that’s hands on and if you have loads of enthusiasm then sign up today.
Or you could inspire, cheer and motivate participants taking part in challenges by providing support for them on the course.
Event volunteers are  really important as you help to ensure that events run smoothly and that people feel welcomed. Maybe you’re a team player with great communication skills who can use their initiative when dealing with anything that may occur during the day!

Hold your own event

Getting together with friends, family and neighbours, or taking on a personal challenge is a great way to support VWD. We've got loads of suggestions to help you organise your own event or fundraising challenge if you'd like to.

How do I get involved?

It’s very easy - get in touch, complete our short application form and someone will be in touch.
